SAISI SASIC ASI® COURSES
SASIC 1 Theory Course (synchronous online)
SASIC 2 Test Administration Course (two parts):
- CLASI M2 (asynchronous online via CLASI)
- SASIC 2 CLASI M3 (in-person presented by SAISI)
SASIC 3 Interpretation Course (in-person)
SASIC 4 Intervention Course (in-person) and FM Workshop (synchronous online)
After completion of each SASIC course, and prior to subsequent SASIC courses, certain pre- and post-course activities must be completed in time, in order to be eligible to attend the next course. Course participants must check the SAISI website regarding the pre- and post-course submission dates, including all the SASIC course requirements before they submit their pre- and post-course activities.
Time frame of ASI® SASIC Training
All the SASIC courses and post-course activities (assessments and assignments) must be completed within a time frame of seven years. The year that you attend the SASIC 1 Theory Course is year one and the final year to submit and pass your Fidelity Measure (usually 7-8 months after following the SASIC 4 Intervention Course) will be counted as year seven.
If the above is not possible due to extra-ordinary circumstances, a formal motivation letter must be submitted to SAISI who will consider each case on its specific merits. Certain SASIC courses (or parts thereof) and certain pre- and post-course activities may have to be repeated and a new time frame (deadline for completion of all SASIC courses and post-course activities with final Fidelity Measure submission) will be set. An Admin fee will be charged.
General
- All prospective course participants must have an active registration with the HPCSA.
- If a course participant is not a paid-up member of SAISI by April, the course participant will not be eligible to pursue ASI® training or attend the SASIC courses presented by SAISI.
- Course participants must ensure that their contact details are correct and up to date on the SAISI database, as well as ensure that their SAISI membership fees are paid.
- Course participants will receive CPD points for all courses as accredited by an appointed Accreditation Committee.
- Since 2022 SAISI teaches the EASI® (in lieu of the previous SIPT®). Reasons for this transition include that internationally, ICE-ASI member countries are now only including the EASI® in their training, due to its relevance in terms of cost-effectiveness, availability and fairness of use as international norms including those of South African children, are used in scoring the EASI®.
- Updated SASIC course information is available on the SAISI website: https://www.instsi.co.za/
- SASIC course applications are processed online.
- Online application and registration for SASIC courses adhere to strict closing dates. It will therefore not be possible to apply after these dates unless SAISI issues a notification that the given application date has been extended.
- Please note that all course applications (SASIC 1, CLASI: M2, SASIC2:M3, SASIC 3 and SASIC 4) are to be submitted by 13 February 2026. This online application date is final. If your intention is to attend any of SAISI’s courses during 2026, please ensure that you apply before 13 February 2026. It is not possible to apply for a SAISI 2026 course after this date, unless a notification is issued by SAISI that the applications for a specific course have been extended.
- Course participants must attend all SASIC course contact hours. SAISI will keep to the policy for any missing hours/time at a course and these are strictly monitored. The hourly rate for compulsory mentoring of any missing time at a course is R670 – R700 (subject to change) per hour. See our policy below for missing hours.
Please note:
- SAISI reserves the right to alter course requirements (including SASIC course structure and pre- and post-course activities) at any time during the ASI® training process to ensure quality training. Any changes will be communicated to course participants, however it remains the course participant’s responsibility to keep up to date with the latest information via the SAISI website and other applicable communication channels, as well as to adhere to these set requirements.
- The International Council for Education in Ayres Sensory Integration (ICE-ASI) has established specific guidelines regarding the maximum number of course participants permitted for each SASIC course. As a member of ICE-ASI, SAISI is committed to upholding these guidelines to ensure the promotion of best practices and the enhancement of training standards in ASI®. SAISI therefore operates on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, as soon as the course application has been received and the deposit has been paid.
- If course participants have been placed on a waiting list due to not securing a spot in a SASIC course, even when they have met the deadlines and fulfilled the prerequisites, they are required to reapply for the same course in the subsequent year, ensuring they submit their re-applications before the application deadline.
Payment of Courses

Early bird registration:
• Participants that register and pay their full deposit on or before 10 December, will receive a 10% discount. It will only count for the courses, registered for on the 10 December 2025. The discount will be allocated to a participants account, when/if they are accepted to a given course.
Deposit:
• A 10% deposit must accompany the application for each SASIC course. The deposit will be returned if the course participant’s application was unsuccessful (such as when the specific SASIC course is full or when the course participant cancels the application before the course deadline / closing date for applications).
Course Cancelations:
• Courses must be cancelled at least 12 weeks before the scheduled start date. Cancellations after this period will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
• Cancellations by the course participant within one week or less before the commencement of the specific SASIC course will forfeit 100% of the SASIC course fee, unless the course participant’s place can be filled on the course, in which case the 10% deposit will be forfeited.
• If course participants fail to meet the pre-requisites for a particular SASIC course, such as not completing the post-course questionnaires by the specified dates or not submitting their typical and atypical cases, protocols, pre-course questionnaires, etc., it is their responsibility to cancel their course applications for the subsequent SASIC courses.
• If course participants have applied for multiple SASIC courses but were not accepted for the first-in-line SASIC course or if course participants choose to cancel the first-in-line SASIC course for any reason, they must also cancel their applications for subsequent SASIC courses before the specified deadlines. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of their deposits or the full SASIC course fee.
• Each SASIC course has a maximum capacity for course participants. SAISI will not be held liable or assume responsibility for any travel and accommodation arrangements or associated fees in the event that a course participant is not accepted to attend a SASIC course.
• An insufficient number of course participant applications for a specific SASIC course may lead to its cancellation. In such cases, course participants will be duly notified. It’s important to note that SAISI will not be held liable nor assume responsibility for any travel and accommodation arrangements that may need to be cancelled as a result. This policy also applies in cases where a SASIC course must be cancelled due to a natural disaster or a state of emergency.
Dietary requirements:
• Please be aware that most venues only offer standard or vegetarian food options as part of the on-site course participant’s fee, which covers both food and drinks.
• If course participants have specific dietary preferences or requirements that cannot be accommodated by the venue, they are advised to bring their own refreshments and meals along. In such cases, the venue will not provide any discounts, and the standard/vegetarian catering fee will still apply in full. Regrettably, SAISI cannot issue refunds for food provided by the venue that could not be consumed.
• For course participants who require Halaal or Kosher options, it is however possible to place an order, but this could incur an additional catering cost.
